Looking for love (a memory from a long-lost day)

In life’s myriad pathways I wander and roam,
Lost in my musings, for love, I call home.
At every twist, for my soulmate, I yearn,
Will someone claim me? Will someone turn?

What is this enigma, this thing called love?
Is it the ache, the solitude from above?
Or is it the bliss in your embrace I find?
Why does each departure leave fear behind?

What is this thing, this feeling of loss?
A lesson unlearned, a bridge yet to cross.
What knowledge do I seek, that remains unknown?
A mystery unraveled, a seed yet unsown.

In the dance of existence, I move with the flow,
Seeking, calling, for love to bestow.
In the labyrinth of life, I search and I plea,
Will love ever find its way to me?
