A day, a year, a century
Another measure of time is now just a memory
Yesterday's fears, hopes and questions
Are now just subjects of future diversions
A year later, are we prodigious?
Did that midnight moment enlighten us?
Does nature not celebrate around us?
If not, why are those birds and flowers so joyous?
So, lessons learnt, stride on,
The world awaits our greatness, and time, like a curmudgeon
Bears on, forward, as any inexorable metronome
But nature, the great mother, is ever awaiting her own
Seed, you, me, every one and everything
To fulfil the promise of our existence and being
So onward and forward, fulfil your potential
And joy to all as we learn and celebrate our collective arrival!
